The year of the Metal Rabbit will be highlighted with funfare and pageantry of royal weddings. Though glass coaches and horse-drawn carriages transporting royal brides might not be seen in this year's royal wedding, the anticipation of the fairtyale ceremony is still expected.
This April 29, the much-awaited wedding of the future British King, Prince William, will be held at Westminster Abbey while the wedding of Monaco's current ruler, Prince Albert II, will be held at the open ground of the Royal Palace of Monaco on the 3rd of July. As the dates get nearer, the two European Princes are busy preparing the details of their weddings, but the famous question that surrounds the royal circuit is who will design the gowns of their future brides.

Prince William and Kate Middleton
British designer, Bruce Oldfield
Though it is widely rumored that British designer, Bruce Oldfield will handle Kate's gown, it is not yet confirmed as the royal palace maintained secrecy regarding the details of the wedding dress. Oldfield is the favorite designer of the late Princess of Wales, Diana, he designed most of her gowns for official royal tours. He also designed wedding gowns of Queen Rania of Jordan and Lady Tamara Grosvenor, the daughter of teh 6th Duke of Westminster. But elsewhere in the continent, in the glamorous principality of Monaco, the name of Charlene's dress designer is already revealed, it's none other than the Italian maestro, Giorgio Armani, who previously designed Katie Holmes''s wedding dress and Victoria Beckham.
Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert II of Monaco
world renowned fashion designer, Giorgio Armani
It is part of the royal protocol that the details of the bridal gown design should remain a top secret until the wedding day to prevent making copies from other brides who will wed ahead of the royal brides. The British royal court remain silent on Kate Middleton's dress while Monaco refused to reveal the kind of dress Wittstock will wear on her wedding day.
Aside from Oldfield and Armani, other famous celebrity wedding gown designers in the world are Vera Wang and Valentino and Carolina Herrera. Their exquisite creations transform brides into an apparition of loveliness. But because of the issue of loyalty and national patronage, almost all British royal brides, to avoid criticism and national hatred, never chose foreign designers for their gowns.
